Student Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to the 2021-2022 Student Teacher of the Year!

Ingrid Bailey

Ms. Ingrid Bailey was an undergraduate elementary education major who student taught at Winding Springs Elementary in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Throughout all of her letters of recommendation, a major theme was that during her time as a student teacher, Ingrid was a strong advocate for her students’ needs and made changes to instruction, based on what she learned in her coursework, that made a positive impact in her student’s lives. A couple examples of how she went above and beyond during her student teaching semester included: offering Saturday morning tutoring sessions via zoom; serving on the Faculty Advisory Committee at her school; and speaking on behalf of her students and families to advocate for their concerns regarding allowing them to bring Chromebooks home so that they would have access to tutoring services and instructional materials. We are so proud of Ms. Bailey and we are delighted to have her representing our college!
