Biography

Dr. Tom Fisher is a veteran MDSK Supervisor of Student Teaching Candidates as well as teaching courses within the various MDSK programs. He is a qualified edTPA product scorer in Middle Grades and Secondary Social Studies. He is a recent certified Quality Matters (QM) awarded online instructor as well as a certified CLASS or Classroom Assessment Scoring System supervisor. His forte is the edTPA product and he is a leader in the Cato College of Education on setting up student supports, training faculty and clinical educators, and developing better systems to track and assess student strengths and areas of need. His mission now is to deliver this information and support to school partners in order to benefit all stakeholders. He is also very interested in real time coaching and professional development as evident by his involvement in the Teacher Education Institute (TEI).

Community Involvement

  • Founding member of the “Highland Men’s” a division of national “Be There Dad’s” organization that benefits elementary and middle schools in the region and coordinates fundraising and other outreach programs specifically Highland Creek Elementary and Ridge Road Middle School.
  • Mentors at risk youth in his neighborhood in conjunction with the SBS (Specialized Behavior Systems) Coordinator at the school.
